潟マルシェ GATA MARCHE

月に一度、鳥屋野潟のほとり「ユスリカの森」で開催されるローカルマーケット。人も社会も環境も大切にする、水辺の森の小さなマルシェです。
自然栽培の作物、フェアトレードや福祉作業所の雑貨など、生産者や地域の「想い」にふれることのできる小さなお店や、潟を体感できるアクティビティで、“新潟ローカルライフスタイル” に出会える場です。 Once a month, a local market is held in “Yusurika no mori (the Forest of Midges)”. This is a small market at the water side valuing human life, society, and environment.
There are athletic activities on the lagoon small shops offering organic crops, fair trade commodities, and handicrafts produced at welfare workshops which will enable you to meet “The Local Lifestyle of Niigata”.

おひさま日曜市 Niigata organic market
OHISAMA SUNDAY MARKET

新潟の自然栽培野菜の「売り場所がない」ことや、「買える場所が分からない」といった声から生まれたオーガニックマーケット。鳥屋野潟の南の森のなかにある「点塾」にて開催されます。新潟市内の自然栽培の野菜などが並び、様々なワークショップを通じ、野菜や農業について買う・食べる・知ることができます。 This organic market was founded as a response to the appeals of both traders who did not have anywhere to sell their organic goods and consumers who did not know where to find these goods. It is held at Tenjuku in the south forest on the edge of Toyano lagoon. Organic vegetables from Niigata city are displayed, and there are various workshops held to learn about vegetables, agriculture, ethical consumption and cooking.

mullet（マレット）とは魚のボラのこと。鳥屋野潟には、地元の人たちがボラと呼ぶ魚が棲んでいます。地域の素材を掘り起こし、フードデザインを施してその土地の価値として発信したい。そんな想いが込められています。
この小さな白いキッチンカーは、鳥屋野潟の森の中に出店し、地域の人、土地、素材、様々なものを結びつけながら、新潟のローカルな食に出会える場を、潟の水辺につくり出します。 Mullet means “Bora”, a type of fish. The mulled is a fish that is local to the area and that inhabits Toyano lagoon. The founders of mullet promote a wish to discover and reimagine a local delicacy to spread to the world.
This small white food truck connects the locals, the local land, and ingredients, creating a space where people can enjoy the local food of Niigata at the waterside.

KAYAK & BOATING

鳥屋野潟にかつて、潟の漁師が魚をとって暮らす舟文化が根付いていて、舟が浮かぶ風景が広がっていました。漁師たちの舟は「板合わせ」と呼ばれていました。
そんなかつての暮らしを追体験できる、板合わせ舟とカヤック体験。舟に乗って漕ぎ出し、水上からみる新潟の街や自然、水上で感じる水や風は、陸から見る鳥屋野潟とはまるで別世界。かつてあった潟の風景にも想いを馳せる、特別な時を過ごせるでしょう。 The sight of boats floating on Toyano lagoon was, in the past, a familiar scene, as a culture of fishing is deeply rooted within this area. A local fisherman’s boat is called “Ita-awase”, meaning the joining of planks of wood.
Today, you can experience the lifestyle of that time, by kayaking on the lagoon, and get a fresh perspective on Niigata’s city, nature, water, and wind. Take yourself back in time, and gain insight into the historic landscape of the lagoon.

TOYANOGATA PICKNIC

TOYANOGATA PICKNIC（ﾋﾟｯｸﾆｯｸ）とは、鳥屋野潟で舟に乗って自然や風景を楽しみながら、潟に流れつくゴミを拾うアクティビティです。新潟の中でも海抜の低い土地にある鳥屋野潟には、繋がっている水路などに落ちたゴミが流れつきます。その多くがペットボトル、空き瓶、空き缶、発泡スチロールなど、人々の生活によって生み出されたゴミたちです。TOYANOGATA PICKNICは、鳥屋野潟の自然を楽しみながら、潟の環境や人々の生活にも目を向け、楽しみながらアクションしようという取り組みです。鳥屋野潟の漁師さんが漕ぐ「板合わせ舟（木舟）」で潟に漕ぎ出して自然や風景を楽しみながら、潟に流れ着いたゴミを“PICK”してみませんか？さあ、網とトングと袋を持って、一緒に鳥屋野潟に漕ぎ出しましょう！ Toyanogata “Picknic” is a boating activity where people can enjoy nature in the wetlands of Toyanogata while picking up trash floating in the waters. Because Toyanogata is situated below sea level, litter from the surrounding waterways naturally flows into the lake. Most of the trash is made up of everyday waste products—plastic bottles, glass bottles, metal cans, and polystyrene. Toyanogata Picknic was created as a fun way to raise awareness about the wetlands and our lifestyles while making a positive impact on the environment. Join us in a traditional wooden ita awase boat guided by Toyanogata’s fishermen and help us protect the wetlands.
Grab your net, a bag, and a pair of tongs. The wetlands are waiting!

都市の中にある鳥屋野潟。周りには住宅地があれば、自動車も走ります。そんな喧騒すら感じる街でも、水辺の森の中に一歩足をふみ入れれば、生き物たちの生命力あふれる光景が一気に広がります。そんな鳥屋野潟の生態系に出会い、ふれることができるサスティナブルツアー。人の暮らしと生態系の共存のあり方について、多くの示唆を与えてくれます。 Toyano lagoon is located within Niigata city. It is surrounded by houses, with traffic passing by frequently. One can step from a bustling city into the waterside forest, and the scenery of living things filled with their vitality will appear before your eyes. You will be able to experience a diverse ecosystem on this sustainable tour. This short trip will give you many ideas about the coexistence of people’s way of living and the ecosystem.

CYCLING

潟のほとりのアウトドアショップで借りる、レンタサイクル。鳥屋野潟を、環境への負荷の少ない自転車でめぐってみませんか。地元アウトドアメーカーの自転車に、新潟県産の魚沼杉を使ったカゴを取り付けて、アレンジを加えました。潟を吹き抜けてくる風を受け、木漏れ日の中を駆け抜けながら、鳥屋野潟の清々しさを全身で感じ取ってみてください。 Bicycles are available to rent from an outdoor shop by the lagoon- why not try cycling around the lagoon as a fun and eco friendly option? The bicycles are arranged specially for Toyano lagoon’s promotion with a crate on the front made from cedar trees from Uonuma. The bicycles are designed by CAPTAIN STAG, a bike shop in Sanjyo.
